Germany’s captain Leon Draisaitl will be suspended for today’s game against the Czech Republic.
Draisaitl hit Team USA player Andrew Copp from behind ten seconds into the second period of yesterday’s game between the two teams and was assessed a match penalty.
A match penalty carries an automatic one-game suspension and a disciplinary review. Upon further review the IIHF Disciplinary Panel decided not to issue any further supplementary disciplinary action.
